The Wildflowers are Arriving!

Early last week the wildflowers arrived. The Bradshaw’s lomatium emerged from the ground. In most places there was still a couple inches of water, and there they were in the expected areas at Oak Meadows. This was a first for us to witness, and it is really cool. Given the conservation status of this native wildflower, we are happy that Oak Meadows provides the necessary habitat for this flower to survive.

Here and there were fully bloomed Camas as well, with thousands just sending their greenstalks upward with a tiny newly formed flower on top, a few days from emerging into their purple wonder!

Willamette Valley Bittercress.

Another native flower, the Willamette Valley bittercress was there too. All kinds of sedges were growing as well as native grasses. All in all, the place is simple amazing, and by the time of our first walking tour on April 26th, the natural stage will be set.

We look forward to seeing you out there!
